I can't ever seem to find the time to really work on my little shop the way I want to these days. I love it but everything else just feels like it's taking so much of my time. Between school and work it's been harder to do anything... I think i'm going to revamp my shop. Maybe just sit down and not do an order for a bit.

Just what the title of this post says!

And yes, I am back from hiatus and in full swing! Wedding season is coming hard and fast, yeah I know it's not even June yet, but hey, a bride wants what she wants when she wants it and how she wants it! (Did that makes sense!?)

I adore making wedding accessories for these demanding brides and had the pleasure to even make a less traditional red one (which I completely loved... oh the 24kt Gold and Crystal work on it was fabulous!)

I haven't got to really post anything to my blog in a long time but that'll change soon. In the mean time here are some pictures (courtesy of Whitney Owen Designs) of a beautiful bride that I made that gorgeous red veil for her bengali wedding, red silk flower and freshwater pearl hair pins, plus a nifty birdcage veil.

Sisters and thoughts of sparkles and fluffy white things

It's occurred to me that I wish I had a sister. Or a bestfriend that's like a sister. Maybe it's one of those girl things where I wish I had someone really close that I could laugh with, argue with, yell with, and basically everything and still care about eachother through and through that's female and like me.

I've also been in a terrible wedding mode lately. Staring at rings and dresses and basically everything. Watching things like "Say yes to the dress" and reading things about different venues all over the USA.

I don't think that Charles is ever going to propose to me... :(
I've been waiting so long for him to pop the question to me. This summer will be our 5 year anniversary and later this spring we will have known eachother for 6 years. He keeps telling me it'll happen, but I'm to a point now that I don't think it will. It makes me a bit upset and that I don't want to be in a relationship if it's not going anywhere. Some of my friends have suggested that maybe I should pop the question to him, but I'm not like that. There are just some things that are far more romantic and meaningful to me when it's done like tradition.

He said tomorrow we can go ring shopping, but we've done that plenty of times. Maybe he just doesn't want to.

Charles and I got a new camera to take on vacations and all with us because all I have are the huge bulky pro cameras and studio lights and crap at home. Not very portable.

Well, I want to start putting up at least 1 thing I see each time I make a post. Since I have this tiny cam that's all easy to bring with me all over the place now. :)

Ear Cuffs! and then some! O_O

Hi all!!!

Well, been a while since I've made a post! I'm going to start making ear cuffs for my shop :D

I think this will be fun for everyone that's told me they love my work but don't have pierced ears! (Plus a less painful alternative to those pinchy clip-ons!) I'll have designs up some time before the weekend. Might just be sketches to start out with and then the actual thing.

Anyways, right now I'm getting ready for the school year to start up for the spring semester AGAIN. I honestly can't wait because I'm taking 15 hrs this semester and I haven't been a full time student for a while just because I've been worrying about work and health insurance forever! I'll finally be finishing something and then moving on with my Architecture degree. YAY!!!

Last week was a fun week. We went to New Mexico for a snowboarding trip, plus Charles' birthday with his family. Shawn came with us and that was strange...ish, but still fun. It was just because it was like a family trip and he ended up being kind of a third wheel... cause he's not technically considered family... and didn't stop talking about Beth... Yeah, a lot of us know, he's obsessed with her, but he complained about how she was his girlfriend and then ditched him within a 24 hr period. To me it was no big surprise. Honestly, all of us have been telling him to ditch her and stay far away for about 3 yrs now. So, I don't think any of us really will shed a tear for his sob story.

I also hurt my tailbone, right knee, ankle, elbow, wrist and shoulder! Charles told me at least I hurt it in a cool way. HAHAHAHA!!! This I must agree with because it's a fun story to tell people when they ask me. I know, I'm a dork. But what happened was I was coming down a slope and then caught bad ice. It totally sent me flying. Now, as I fly through the air all I can think of is, "Oh crap... This is going to hurt so bad..." and yes, it did hurt like hell because I didn't just smack the ice. I BOUNCED OFF MY BUTT!!! and then flew down about 3 more yards and smacked the ice. I never knew it was really possible for someone to bounce off of their rear end since I had only seen it in cartoons, but it totally is. LOL Cause it happened to me!

I started growing my own herbs at home. Hopefully they start to sprout in about a week or so and I can show them off and be like mmmm freshness!!! :D

If it goes well and I prove not to have a black thumb then I might start growing some veggies at home. 2010 has proven to be exciting so far and quite expensive so I'm trying to cut down anywhere I can and if growing my own produce that I usually buy with exception to Shitake Mushrooms will help me save and give me some yummy fresh things to munch on then so be it! I'm very excited about finally growing my own fresh things because I haven't had a garden in a looong time. In fact, my back patio area, instead of being flower filled is barren due to neglect on my part, but I blame work! (and icey cold weather that has forced me indoors.)

I think that might be it for now, I'll probably think of more things to put in here later on today.

Cutting Blood

A lot of times I write in here when I need to vent, and boy... do I need to vent and it's been A WHILE!

The other day my mother and I went to the hospital to visit my little brother. Well, he had the sweetest friend there with him, she brought him dinner and everything. Simply a sweetheart and a nurturer by nature!

That night I learned how 2-faced my own little brother is. Once she left he changed into an entirelyt different person. Was he the boy that I grew up with and knew to be goofy and silly with his family as his backbone? Nope. He was selfish, 2-faced, and manipulative. He even said to my face he didn't consider me his sister, I've done nothing to him EVER. AND he said to our own mother's face that he thinks it's perfectly fine to back talk her because he does it all the time.

What kind of son and brother is that? To me that's no one.

So, this holiday season, and I hope he reads my blog here and there, that he knows, he's no longer welcomed in any of our homes. If he shows up, the doors will slam in his face.

He'll also receive a rude awakening when he realizes that he won't be able to afford classes next semester because my parents are cutting him off completely.

My step-dad said something the other night that was really good. He said, "sometimes tough love is the hardest kind to give" and I completely agree. the boy doesn't know who really loves him. He has so many fairweather friends he's so blind. He thinks they care about him through and through but they don't. They're there fofr him on the surface, while his family would be with him no matter what and no matter where.

But now, we have all disowned him. He's just such a disappointment to us all.

Well, my sales have been somewhat slow. Just a bit. Only getting a bridal hair piece done and a garter to go with it as well as a promo pack for someone to send out with their things to bring me in some business :)

We just had 1 person quit in our band for the first time. Oh well, not like it was a big thing, because she could not play. This is us now, which is the reedit of the original you can see below. Well, I haven't been online all weekend... but! Did get to participate in an amazing photoshoot featuring my band of course :) There I am climbing up a wall to the left :) looking all amazing on that thing.

We don't have a name yet, if you can think of any leave a message on this post. :) If we pick your name suggestion you'll be receiving the Gisli bracelet from my shop as your reward for your creativity ;)

New songs and fun

Well, Kelsey and I are going to start working on a simple acoustic song this week :) Starting WAAY later today! HAHA!!! (cause it's like 2am right now). We'll be finished with it like by Wednesday. HOPEFULLY. It's going to take a bit, she already has music written and I'm pretty awesome with lyrics :D So, I think we can come up with something nice and quick. It's just to give people an idea when they ask :)

Guitar Center fun... ness??? I guess???

Well, yesterday Natalya, Kelsey, and I met up. I totally forgot to turn the ringer back on on my phone, cause I had it off the other night so in case Charles called like crazy it wouldn't bother me and my voicemail could get it. That was the idea anyways...

Well, when I got home I forgot to turn the damn thing's ringer back on so my phone was like on silent forever. Iwas stupid at home thinking, I wonder if they're asleep(cause i've been up since 6 freakin am!)... lol cause Natalya has a bad habit of sleeping for WAAAAY too long and getting ready WWWAAAAYYY too slow. (like Saturday, I waited for her for 5 FUCKING HOURS!!! Just for her to ditch her damn friend and get to town already, then she gets here and is all like you're late, you're late, fucking pisses me off...)

So, I wonder around my house and wait and wait and I'm like.. My phone has so not rang yet... and the clock says 12:45pm and we were supposed to meet at about 12:00pm So like noon! Well, I go to my phone and open it up to call someone and BAM lots of missed calls. I had like a list of 15 missed calls... all of people trying to freakin get a hold of me... I was like OMFGWTFTW... SHIT!

I call and get a sarcastic Natalya, it sort of pissed me off because of the day before and she has somewhat pissed me off today a bit too when she said that we don't need a bassist.... further when she kept wondering the guitar store and not knowing what the hell to get after I've urged her to get lessons for something for the past few months. I'm not sure if start a band with her was a good idea... she's just so much more behind everyone else and does not pick up on things involving coordination very well... she just might end up being a backup person or something.

Honestly, don't know what to do with 3 freakin guitarist and only 2 knowing how to really play (me and Kelsey) while 1 just plays around... trying to act and be like a guitarist(Natalya)!

That's just the vibe I get and it's making me somewhat upset... ok...very very upset that I even thought about starting a band with her. It's also like seriously hitting me that she has such a warped and untrusting view on relationships that it's crazy. It's no wonder she can't keep one when she has one! (and the only ones that continue to chase her are messed up in the head further, like xfiance Taylor) Plus, it's just the comments she makes toward things I tell her. I don't want to tell her anything anymore and just want to keep them short and sweet for now. She's so self absorbed now... more than before and it disgusts me. I don't know how to tell her that she's an annoying bitch now and I really want just space and time away from her for a while, I can only stand her so much now. She use to be a great person to talk and hang with, really down to earth, and just great... Now though? Not so much. Definitely not the same person that was my best friend.

I think that she has this idea that we're going to be doing like hardcord metal or something... I don't know if she realizes or not but 1, my voice is not that style... 2, we want to do ROCK and POP-ROCK not METAL... 3... she has no clue what our target audience is and what is trendy for that age, everything she likes is so.... dated... unless it's like clothing for photoshoots. which does not help here.

So, I tried to stay happyish I guess and I didn't speak much or tried not to... and people know that I am VERY TALKATIVE and speak my mind a lot. Today I kept it at bay to try not to get super mad and pissed.

Well, I guess that's it for my theraputic rant on that...

Well, looks like it is starting to come together and looking bright. As some of you know, I have been working hard on putting together a band. So far it's looking like a girl band ROFL!!!!
But everyone in it is pretty talented. Natalya and I met up with a girl named Kelsey today and she seems pretty cool. She's 19 and seems to have a lot of potential and a genuine love for music, which is hard to find because people are mostly "groupies" and what not. They like music but it is not a love for it as they do not participate in anything musical except for the listening part.

I think that now that we actually have connections and everything and people willing to help us in this move it'll be fun and great. We'll be meeting tomorrow for lunch and going over a schedule and timeline I want everything done by.

I'm looking for us to have a full band by the end of this month and getting Natalya to start on lessons immediately for drums OR guitar.

Summer Classes!

YAY!!!
I am kinda happy today :) I will be able to take those courses that my mom failed to pay for me after all.

My fiance and I shuffled around some of our money and found that we have just enough to cover the $575 on our own :)

I like it when things like this happen. Although, the money was meant for us to go on vacation this year... but guess we're not. Charles was saving it as a surprise because in July it will be our 4 yr anniversary.

It's alright though because it is going towards my education and he knows it's important to me. He is finishing up his PhD right now afterall :) So, he knows the value of a good education and it makes me very happy :)

I WILL have pictures of that necklace for ToniNZ today!!! YAY!!! Oh and as always please do visit this clay artist's shop!!!! She has some simply beautiful things made as well as fun clay that you can order to play with and make your own things from!

The Sims 3

Good morning!!!

So, I am as many of you know I am a Sims addict!!! Yes, it's true, I have an addiction and it is to the series of games called "The Sims" by EA Games (used to be by Maxis). I have played from when they started nad my older brother showed me the computer game "The Sims" and my addiction continued to "The Sims 2" (I have ALL of the expansions packs for this series), and now "The Sims 3".

When I heard that they were putting out "The Sims 3" I was thrilled excited and very very anxious. You would not believe how exicted I was! I even pre-ordered the collectors edition of "The Sims 3" which came in a neato green shiney box and a 2GB USB key that looks like the signature plumb that all of the "simmers" out there have become acustom and familiar with.

I was happy and content. After a long wait, it was finally here to ease my addiction to this computer simulator game. I went to Best Buy with my "The Sims 3 Collector's Edition" pre-order box on June 2nd. Got there when the store opened and got in line immediately to pick up my new game! I even got the game at the regular price instead of the collectors price due to being in Best Buy's awesome Rewardzone program and get points which my fiance and I collect and had a $20 coupon with us! YAY ME!!!! :D

Well, we got home and I ripped that sucker open! :D Then played... :D

I played it for hours yesterday!!! I was pretty pleased thus far but I was a bit disappointed as it did fall somewhat short as to what I was expecting from all of the hype on this game. With the transition from "The Sims" to "The Sims 2" it was needless to say... AMAZING. For one the original Sims did have several expansion packs and then with "The Sims 2", the sequel to the original actually had ALL of the features that the original plus all of it's expansion packs together offered in the starter disc that you have to buy to play it and use any expansion packs to come. "The Sims 2" was a great move forward and best of all just awesome to have with it's many expansion packs which added amazing features like actual weather, businesses, hobbies, and more. Now this is what I already have in my head and love the series so much. So, I have many expectations riding on this release of "The Sims 3".

In "The Sims 3" their main advertising factor for this was to introduce it to the regular sims community as well as appeal it to new players with things like everything being customizable without downloading more files. The big feature? Being able to have your sims come and go from their home all over town as people do in their real lives and well... not waiting for the infamous loading screen we all hate. Right now I am not really missing the loading screen as I've discovered that all places you go outside of your home... You can't explore. You can walk on the streets, yeah. You can run through the park, of course... but can you actually go to the grocery store and go to a bin and pick out stuff or go to a restraunt and be seated and then have your food served and everything? No. Something simple as that is a bit sad when all that happens is a menu showing with stuff or simply time going by when you put your sim in a class. I was anticipating that it would be more interactive.

However, it has fallen somewhat short and I am a bit disappointed because I am such an avid player of the series that I even have "The Sims 2 Pets" for the PlayStation. Its game play on the PlayStation is STRIPPED as compared to the Computer version.... I felt like I was given a STRIPPED version of the sims when I played "The Sims 3" and I was not able to go into buildings and explore them myself. Nor could I have my sims sit down for dinner anywhere else but home, what's the fun in that? Eating out is supposed ti be fun whether it's virtual or not.

The game is also filled with glitches. One of the glitches that continually happens is the game, for no real reason at all, just closes and then you sit there with "What the **** just happened?" So, saving continually in the game is recommended. I have concluded that it is a ram or virtual ram problem for this as the game is intensely graphic heavy still. A good restart to the computer should fix this and dump the info for a clean slate. Until of course it happens again... then you need to restart again. Hopefully EA will have a patch to fix this and have it process easier for our systems and everything.

It is NOT the EA Download Manager. I was online the other day and some people were suggesting that that's what it might be because they thought it was possibly interfereing with the game play. Which, is not a bad conclusion as other programs do do that. However, I know it is not because I had not installed it on my own system at all when the first "crash" occurred. I WAS doing some heavy graphic work and surfing around online prior to playing the game that day. And, I know that doing what I do on the computer consumes A LOT of memory. That's why I have concluded that it is a RAM and or Virtual RAM problem. Even with a couple if GB's of RAM the "crash" is inevitable.

What I have done to solve the problem is to restart my computer prior to playing (to dump and clear the memory), disable my system from being online, then turning off the antivirus so it does not scan while I play. This way not a lot of memory is eaten away at prior to playing the game).

Then I play and I'll be good!

It has for the moment remedied the problem until EA makes a patch to help along the new game while running on our systems.

It is still a great and fun game, don't get me wrong. So, hopefully EA will come out with some amazing expansion packs for us with "The Sims 3".

I have discovered though... that some of the "cheat codes" from "The Sims 2" still works on "The Sims 3" which was a surprise!!! Like, the fun 50,000 simoleon code which is "motherlode" WORKS in "The Sims 3" and this was originally a code from "The Sims 2" as it was nonexistent in "The Sims". If you've played "The Sims" or "The Sims 2" then you'll know how to enter the codes into the game. I suspect that some of the game setting codes may work as well but I have YET to try anyout in order to test it all.

I gues that is it for my short review of my fun new game for now. Maybe some fun findings will come around later!

Sweet memories and itty bittiness

Well, my fiance (Charles) and I have been looking for a new little addition to our family (a kitten) for a while. We've been talking about it for about a year now and occassionally went out to look here and there to see if there was one that we just connected with and instantly fell in love with.

For a bit we thought we'd never find another one like our little Lily (she's a Turkish Van mix with light blue eyes, very muscular, and HUGE paws, really pretty girly, looks close to calico but isn't completely.). When we got Lily we were living in our first place together on the other side of town in a little 1 bedroom apartment and something was just missing and I found what it was when I was looking around the shelter here in town at our local humane society shelter.

Lily came with some psychological problems and we were up to the challenge of healing her wounds and giving her a warm loving home that she never had. I don't know what it was that was so traumatic for her when she was little. We adopted her when she was 6 months old and she was a pretty big girl by then. All we knew about her at the time was that the people who brought her in found her on their big farm, several other families actually brought her back to humane society because they could not handle that she needed help, and we wanted something at home to love because there was definitely something simply missing.

It was a challenge to get Lily home actually. She was scared of everything, other people, cars, just everything and was terrified when we got her in the car and I started the engine. The carrier we bought her the day before picking her up... that thing was totaly history!!! She shredded that like it was made of paper! She was, however, instantly comforted by us though and knew she would eventually come around and be the sweet little darling that we knew she was and is.

When Charles and I got her home she actually was so scared I had to hold her and stay up with her all night and sing her to sleep for a week. Otherwise she just wouldn't. Later, about the second week we had her we went to the first vet appointment set for her. We found a little open wound in the middle of her shoulder blades and didn't know what it could be. The vet suggested that it might have been from a brand-x flea and tick drop used on her right before we picked her up from humane society. Since off brands usually are made of harsher and cheaper chemicals it made sense and it could have burned her skin some by causing it irritation. To me it made some sense but I didn't know why it looked so fresh of a wound. So, we put some medicine drops on it each day and it seemed to help.... for the time being.

So, the thing healed but in a week it came back!!! I was horrified to see it again and back to vet we went. Got some different medicine and tried to see if that worked and it didn't. I was so scared that something was eating away at her skin and afraid that it might hurt other parts of her. So, I kept a very very close eye on her the next week to find that it was her hurting her own back! That's when it dawned on me that the poor girl must've had something terribly wrong because she continued to hurt herself. A licking sore on her back.

So, we brought her back to the vet and told him what we had foundout. He thought about putting a dish on her for a bit, LOL... to keep her from being able to turn her head and licking herself but that wouldn't do because she'd be out of that thing in no time! I giggled at the thought of a dish on a cat because it wouldn't be practical but would also look really silly. Anyways, he went on to suggest putting a sock on her to protect her back. It was a good idea actually, because she wouldn't be able to get out of that easy because it would move with her body and it would protect her back if she did try to lick the spot further. However, I wasn't about to let my little baby look silly in a sock.

So, what did we do??? Charles and I brought her home and then we went to the fabric store and got some fabric. When we got home I took my measuring tape and measured her out and made her a little shirt/dress. It was a pink and white plaid pattern with a big white ruffle on the edge and a sparkly little button on the part that went around her neck. The part that went around her tummy I put an elastic band into so it would stretch and bend with her easy. Now her back was protected and she was a stylish kitty. :D It was the PUUUURFECT SOLUTION! :D

Some of our guy friends thought it was ridiculous to dress her up until we told them it had a purpose. The next time we brought her to the vet they were all commenting on what a posh little kitty she was and how spoiled she must be. Pretty funny actually because now she is very sweet, spoiled, and just a darling. Plus, she's the only cat that I know who has her own wardrobe and likes being dressed up.

ANYWAYS, back to now and back from my tangent reminiscing.
It WAS just him, our cat Lily, and I but now we have a new little kitten! She's a tiny little Calico (possibly a ragdoll or angora calico, because her coat isn't short, it's long for a tiny thing) with green/goldish eyes and we named her Daisy! Just like the flower :) Charles has actually never had a kitten, nor has he been exposed to one for so long. It's so adorable because he's so scared of holding her because she's actually a bit smaller than his own hands. (He's afraid of accidentally hurting her) She's just a little bigger than my hands and my hands are pretty tiny, although, I can still scoop her up with just one. It's very cute to see them together. When I see Daisy I never realized how big our Lily was because other people would tell me she was huge but I never thought she was that big... until now. ROFL!!!! Funny how things put other things in perspective.

Lily is still adjusting to Daisy, she doesn't like her being in the same room and if she knows you have been playing with her or holding her she'll hiss at you and be a complete grump. She just has that only child syndrome for now but this is only the 3rd day having Daisy and Lily has not been socialized for being around other cats yet. I know it'll take some time. Charles was concerned because of Lily's reaction and I had to assure him that it was normal. He felt a bit better after reading a few articles online about it and realized that it's completely normal behavior. She'll possibly come around in about a week or so because she needs to get use to Daisy's little baby kitty smell around the house first before she gets use to her presence here.

We actually have a playmat that Lily didn't quite like when I got it for her way back so it had been stored away. Well, when I got Daisy home and brought out the playmat she pretty much claimed the thing and went wild playing with every little thing on it and loves to sleep in the little "hut". lol

We got Daisy from a locally ran pet store at the mall here in town. They don't deal with places like puppy mills which is a plus but I know they deal with private breeders for dogs and some cats and I'm not all that crazy about breeders because there are animals in shelters who depersately need a home... But when we saw Daisy in the window we just fell in love and would not leave without her. It was one of those moments where that little kid inside of you starts playing that song that goes, "how much is that puppy in the window, the one with the waggley tail", except for a little kitty. So, my head was playing, "how much is that kitty in the window, the one with the little pink nose". I'm a huge dork. LOL

Charles fell in love too, he saw her and completely loved her. He tried to be his practical and logical self and think out the desicion and point out the reasons why we shouldn't get her and point out the reasons why we should but his heart strings were already tugged on and I knew as practical and logical as he tried to be his mind was already made up. So, after 45mins of walking around window shopping together and thinking about the little dear we saw in the window we headed back and scooped her up and brought her home. Seeing how happy she was and purring so loudy and seeing Charles' eyes twinkle up and his smile so big when he held her made it all worth while. We know we picked a sweetheart to be Lily's little sissy and a great little girly to be part of our tiny little family.

I do want to ultimately do wedding as well as high fashion styled jewelry. Don't know if I'll do Couture jewelry since I have to present to that committe in France to actually be labled Couture because of the strict guidlines of being Couture.

I'll also be working on another for a different bride soon who's wedding colors are BLACK and RED!!! LOL and no, she's not a Red Raider, I'm in Red Raider country so it's common for black and red or red and black everything including wedding colors!

I think that her groom and herself really just love the colors together and are having a black and red wedding. Very uncommon but it will look lovely and simply gorgeous!

Hi!!!!!

My Tuesday was... to say... well, yesterday was interesting! My friend Wonjee came back into town and apparently all of us are now contemplating a trip to Dallas together sometime to visit Dan in Sherman, TX (over by Dallas) and possibly get some much needed shopping done at IKEA. :D

Well, earlier in the day I woke up totally late (not that that matters but it did yesterday!) and... I am such a procrastinator. Well, I haven't heard from the lady I made the garter for so I made another and was like it's better if she accidentally gets 2 instead of none at all. I know how a bride will panic, I've dealt with A LOT of them!

Well, I paniced and paniced and yeah did I say panic!? Why??? Stupid people were filling out a surey taking up the whole counter and all the pens to get a freakin discount!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'm trying to send a package!!! Hello??????? Could you please move over for the people actually doing something important!

I know that saving money is great but come on, go home, fillout the survey there and slap a stamp on it.... -_- it just made me upset they were in the way when there was me and 5 other people trying to pack, fillout shipping info to actually send something out!

Later that night 1 of my friends I'm going to call him Ethan for privacy sake. Well I was talking to Ethan and he was telling me about his relationship problems with his girlfriend. We'll call her Celeste for privacy too. Ethan and Celeste have apparently been on the rocks and they're on a rollercoaster ride right now, sort of like one of those strange dramas like a soap in the middle of the day.

I can totally see it all dramatic like and everything and with crazy gowns and such. ANYWAYS!!!!!

She went and studied abroad a while back and he just hasn't felt like she's the same anymore. It's strange, cause he is actively seeking other companionship now. He hasn't say cheated on her but he is coming close and I think that that's pretty shady and bad. Well, I told him it was shady and odd.

I think that he's been so down lately that he needed to hear that from someone and my guy and I view him like a brother and we treat him like family so I had to say something. He really really did need to hear it from someone.

What's sadder more to me is that Ethan has been with Celeste for a while and at one point wanted to propose to her and had everything planned out... he can't see himself doing it anymore and it just kills him inside! I remember him asking what I thought was around a good price for engagement rings cause he always seems to ask me about girly things. He's not the same and she's not the same right now.

I think they just need time to grow and figure things out. I told him they're both in very different parts of their lives with a single thread holding them together and once they are done with things that thread will finally knot in 1 place where it will remain and be peaceful.

ROFL my life is really boring all I'm doing is writing about things about my friends... I need to get out more!

Happy Memorial Day!

I would like to say thank you to all of the people who had members of their family die in war. Thank you so much because, even though it is heartbreaking, without their sacrifice we wouldn't even be able to say the things that we want without fear of retaliation. A wise man once said, "We make war that we may live in peace". I believe this to be true, even if the war is a battle against yourself to overcome something, a protest, or if it's to fight for the rights of people in order to live happily one day, war doesn't mean that there is always death, but it does mean that there is great sacrifice. So, thank you for the sacrifices your family gave for your own family, friends, neighbors, and most of all, people in general that everyone may one day live in peace together.

I'm off to do a few things today now :)

Hi all!!!!

Well, it's always great to start the day with a sale :D and here was mine! Awesome lady wanted some custom hoop earrings that were made of a 26 gauge wire. ULTRA THIN HOOPS!

You actually would not believe how hard it was to not bend those hoops while making it, LOL I think I put like a foot of 26 gauge wire in my scrap container to figureout what I want to do with it later.

So, I was kind of upset today... after thinking that my mom was going to pay for my summer tuition because she told me a few weeks ago BEFORE my little bro had his nose and eyes done that she would pay for my tuition this summer...... she just didn't pull through.

Instead she whined about how I should be finding other ways to pay for it even though today was the deadline to pay and she kept on whining until they closed the payment deadline... which was like 30 mins long.... she claims it was 5 mins but I know that woman exaggerates like a horse's nose on a wide angle lense... The fact is is that she made a promise to me for something that was important and whined and didn't pull through for me.

I don't understand how she can spend $5k on cosmetic surgery for eye lids to be cut so they have a fold in them (which is uncommon naturally in lots of asians but i have it naturally and my bro doesn't) and then about another $5k to get a scar reopened and stitched on his nose to have it be less noticeable and not pay $575 for my freakin summer tuition!!!

It kind of sickens me... she already owes my fiance and I $800 that she keeps promising but puts off like no ones business... told me she'd pay for my school tuition which is $575 for the summer and didn't come through...

I'm always getting the short end of the stick. I truely think that because we're mostly chinese and because my mom comes from a chinese background culturally and I come from an american one that we have major issues... I don't know if she thinks of the girl of the family as pretty much property and dead (that's how my grandparents on her side view girls) but that's how I feel... dead to her....

I just sort of believe that you may not treat all of your children the same because they are not the same person, but at least treat them equally. You know? I just don't feel like I'm being treated equally based on how my brothers are treated compared to me and what they receive compared to me. It's just a load of bullocks/shit if you ask me...

I am 23 now and I sort of am starting to believe that I can't count on her for anything at all. Something like this is so small... it's just not right... I'm not a child anymore where you can make a promise and put it off for a while and I'll smile and say okay. I'm a grown woman that keeps her word always and I expect the same from people... especially my own mother... but she can't seem to pull through for me ever...

I totally got done with that garter today and the wonderful woman that ordered it completely LOVES IT!!! That made me so happy :D

And yes that is it right there in all it's glory! Oh the fun 2 hours I spent sewing that thing, you would not believe how much fabric you could fit onto an elastic band... I haven't done 1 of these in SOOOO long so it was like relearning something! LOL It was my first time doing a resin covered charm too at least correctly after many many attempts anyways. lol It came out sooooo good!!! She's happy and I'm happy and we're all happy it was nice :D

I am almost done :D and YES I am so excited about it. For those of you who are in the chats with me regularly I've been working on a solid black garter with an ivory bow and a custom made Houston Astros charm. The charm took longer than I anticipated BUT I pretty much had the entire garter done in about an hour. Which was pretty good considering I kept taking breaks a lot and almost decided to take a nap while working on it ROFL!!! Yeah... I'm a lazy butt... I know.

I'll have pictures of it tomorrow :) and it'll be pretty nice, I think the charm will be completely done hardening by tomorrow. I put an extra coat over it just now just in case. Yeah I work in layers a lot.

Carpet, garters, and whatever...

So, my mom is having the house's carpet replaced.... her house of course... I was apparently recruited to help move things... oh luck me... -_-

It turned out to be a dark cranberry colored carpet... can't say I like it but it isn't too bad, kind of loud though and I think I would be upset to walk into a home with that color all the time. Good thing I don't live there.

I'm also working on a new garter for a customer today. Just prepped the graphic that I will need to use in order to make it with and prepped the little charm that I will be placing it on. Will be pretty nice when it's all done :)

It's my first physical order from my shop online so I'm pretty happy. :D All of my other orders have been for graphics. Not that I don't like making them but... I would rather be making my jewelry and accessories and selling those regularly.

I also got a request today for a vintage style necklace :) pretty fun, I'll be happy once it's all done.

I'm going to go as they say, "hit the hay" I'm sooo tired...

Well, my parents should be back in town now with my little bro who just got out of some surgery, cosmetic, to remove a huge scare on his face. It'll be different to see him without it but it'll be great to see him and not him with a scare down the middle of his face anymore (it was pretty huge).

Anyways, picked up mail stuff for my parents and then had lunch with my older bro. He's a goof, and he's thinking about making his room into the fugliest place ever, ROFL!!!! Even he was skeptical of his own ideas. lol. I'm going to design him a room, so it's nice and presentable and he can actually have people over and come in there and not scared they might get a disease from the floor. It's just THAT BAD! YIKES!!!

I am now relaxing in the Etsy chat tonight, talking and of course like any good business woman, promoting her line :D you never know where you might get a sale. :)

My kitty Lily is at the window and checking it out silly thing. It was burning hot out today and now it's freezing. Feels kinda nice. Although, I wish this place weren't like a desert so much.

OHHH my band!!!!! I'm going over a different band name that will be revealed when we get a site up for it ;)

Natalya and I are meeting someone about jamming with us this weekend. He isn't that attractive so his look against our's looks out of place but he is talented on the guitar soooo if he does become a member we can try to change his look up to fit our's and have the group look like we are cohesive instead of 2 people looking like they are cohesive and then some strange third person. HAHA!

It must be really great and fulfilling to have fun little ones all over the place. On that happy note one of my friends is having the mother's day of her life right now.

She was Adopted, we'll call her Amanda for privacy's sake. Well, we have the same birthday and we've been friends since the beginning of highschool and she's 1 of the few that I have stayed in touch with and I'm happy I have. Now Amanda, this year has started out really really confusing and exciting and it's brought her down a path that she had been wanting to go down from the day she was basically 'born'. Getting to know her real mom... well, let just call her her birth mom instead, but real all the same aside from her real real mom that raised her. Back to the story. It turns out, that Amanda's mom, sought her out and contacted her directly herself. It's a crazy rollercoaster, scary and new, but overwhelming yet beautiful! She found her on facebook. Amanda's also foundout that on her birthday every year early into the hours of the morning her birthmom gets very very nostalgic and also posts up pictures of days that have gone by around the time she was pregnant with Amanda. She never stopped thinking about her. It's really something beautiful that I think will unfold itself throughout this year. Turns out that now she has 5 little brothers and sisters all about the ages 4 to 10. She had actually always wanted that many silbings and she was thrilled to find out things about her new family. She sent her birthmom a card for mother's day, with a very carefully written letter in it. Basically not out right saying that she loved her but that she thought about her, wondered, and looks forward to getting to know her more and more. I could only imagine the things and thoughts she's going through right now since it's Mother's Day. I do wish and hope and know that things between them will blossom.

ANYWAYS,

My mom, she's in Dallas with my little bro.... so I'm waiting for the fun to start later. :)

Well, I have 1 reply to my Craigslist ad about starting a new band. I didn't make the ad stand out, I really wanted it to be sought out and for people to reply that ARE searching... so I guess it's working well as a weedout system right now basically.

sigh such disappointment...

Well.... my little dry city is now wet...
SOOO.... there are a lot of people who are thrilled... I'm not. I wanted it to stay dry...
Even my own little brother was thrilled and it really disappointed me...

This is the letter I wrote to him:
I wouldn't be so excited about Lubbock being wet. I've been to plenty of large areas that are wet...
You have to consider how this will change the community 10 yrs down the line. It will benefit Tax wise, that's the only benefit the city and community takes on from this.
Now children will be able to steal liquor in more obvious places like Walmart or the corner store where they are unmonitored and you know they will. Teens and kids already do it to their parents but that is an entirely different setting with less of a consequence because if it disappears the people know where it went and can take action.
Bringing alcohol directly into a city setting brings up crime and death rates due to accidents because of location and availability of alcohol simply because it is another drug that is abused more so than others because it is not outlawed. Bums dwell around prominent areas that solicit and sell cheap alcohol even with or without ID checks by the seller and clerks.
I'm only saying this because I travel regularly to areas that are wet and are a city setting. It's not that grand to live in it's only good to party in. Lubbock is like a tiny diamond in a pile of dust really and it should remain that diamond. It is boring here and there's not much to do but it has always been a good place for people to come and retire and also raise a family. I only wish you could understand.
I know you are old enough to actually think about things like this and smart enough to consider it. I know your friends probably don't think much of it because they like to party like you and I know you don't do it so much anymore. But, things concerning major change to a city and area, you have to consider if it's best for it and how it will change it 10 yrs down the line and if YOU will be here 10 yrs down the line. Because it was passed for Lubbock to be wet there will be major change here and I can almost guarantee that it will not be good based on my observation of areas that are wet.
I am kind of disappointed because I know most of the people that voted on this were college students including myself. Yet, I also know that many that voted for this did not take into consideration a grand scheme or the big picture of a timeline that includes what major change like this involves on a 10 yr plan and it disappoints me because they voted for convenience for themselves... I voted for Lubbock staying dry.

I know everyone has a right to express themselves and a right to do as they please and I just needed my opinion known to him when I saw he was happy about it. It just disappointed me so much when he was excited about it... I don't know... I just kind of thought that he would have thought about things more... I know he's my little brother and he is extremely rash and I know that this place becoming wet would happen soon or later...

I just wish it was later... because in my family my father abused alcohol and beat on my older brother (til his ears bled) and mom (until she was black and blue and has scars on her legs) because of it... I also travel a couple times per year and I know how places are with it readily available and it doesn't make me happy... It makes me very sad and disappointed... and makes me more so when I know it is readily available with people who will abuse it and will be able to do so more since it is now readily available just down the street.

*sigh*
I wish he would remember and place himself there and consider how things like this effect many families. But I know he's too young to remember and I know he's been brought up to be so happy that he doesn't realize things around him yet. I'm proud of his accomplishments and of him as a person.... but I can't help but to feel a deep cut through me of disappointment in him at this moment.

It's kind of a sad night for me tonight...

I'm still trying to get this new band together. Since last one was total FAIL. More like Uber FAIL. Just... FAIL. LOL

What's up everyone? Haha, I just woke up and it's like 12:30 in the afternoon!
I am so awesome.

I couldn't sleep last night and ended up staying up until like crazy 5am because I'm apparently weird like that.

Lately I've been thinking about bands. Yeah, for those of you who know me, I've been trying to put together a good one for a while. I decided to start from scratch. Already have the hook up for a professional studio and all out in Cali nd a ton of photographers to do shoots for us when we're ready to start, I just can't seem to find dedicated people. My friend Natalya and I are going to go ahead and start one together and jam with some bands in the area. Hopefully, they're MAYBE some people that we'll be able to stick with if not oh well. We'll just see and see how it goes and if there's anyone out there that we click with. I just would love to finally get this going... I mean, I've done photoshoot after shoot and practiced refining my voice and vocal range and each band I've jammed with is talented, don't get me wrong... the problem is finding people that want to take this endeavor all the way and not let it sit as a hobby. I've done my part and want to do this with others and Natalya has done her's too she's been amazing at the networking side of things. We just want to find some really great people to possibly build a band with, right now we're only doing jam sessions. Whether we stay with them or not is up to us but definitely would love to find dedicated people who want to go all the way with this.

Well, off to the mall and other places!!! Vintage shopping for a shoot :)

Although I loved being a member at ArtFire, I'm afraid that it just doesn't provide enough exposure for me and I've had a lot of success with Etsy. The monthly price at ArtFire is just much too much to pay without any guarantee of return and with Etsy's 20 cents per item for 4 months of listing plus only about a 3% commission when you sell, that's pretty good. It's pretty much dirt cheap. I'll be selling only through Etsy now. Sad for some people but it is true! You'll be seeing my new items only for sale on Etsy.com now.

So I have chain maille items now available in my shop under the Folklore line. They're so gorgeous! Have to be some of the most beautiful pieces I have made yet. Gardening fun

HI!!!!

Well, the weather is finally somewhat calm here. SOMEWHAT, at least for a while I won't have to worry about hail pelting my flowers dead like it has been. :(

I started planting a new garden out back with cute purple, pink, and golden orangey flowers. So, far it's pretty nice. Although, I did run into a crazy spot that seems to be infested with red fire ants. UGH!!! I went straight to Home Depot right then and got some fire ant killer spray. I am so happy I got it, because I am totally allergic to those ants and I don't have to worry about running into any more of them.

I've been looking for some large 24" planter pots. I just want a huge 24" one because I want to dig out a hole to settle the thing into and finally make that small "pond" that I've been wanting. The back patio area isn't as big as I would've liked it to be over here. Especially because there's a huge ugly hedge bush back there. I hate those hedge bushes. They're just hideous... I won't know why anyone would want one of those ugly things.

I'm almost done with the chainmail things that will be going up in my shop tomorrow! :D They are soooo BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm excited to have the sterling silver chainmail pieces available for purchase. They have to be some of the most beautiful pieces that I have ever made. Definitely pieces that every girl should have in her jewelry box. Check it out tomorrow when I put them up!

Hi everyone,

Yeah, I haven't wrote anything on this in a few days. I've been experimenting with different techniques on coating flowers in resin. It's fun. I've also been doing a few pieces of jewelry in chainmail patterns! Then accented with semi-precious gemstones like black freshwater pearls.

These necklaces and bracelets will be available in my Etsy shop next week. Because they are intricate and made of silver they will be priced accordingly. Earrings in my shop, I'll have some new styles in there. I will be going into the Etsy chat each day and a 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' gift code will be available if you are a chatter. It will change each day. The code will be valid on earrings only under my Faerie Talez line.

There are 2 new lines now! One is perfect for bridal or if you want A LOT of sparkle called "Starlight" and the other line is called "Folklore" this will be anything I do that is in a Chainmail type pattern. The Faerie Talez line will still be there and will be as playful and whimsicle as ever.

You know what? At first I was a little standoff-ish and was all like i don't know about this... This place is sooo crowded!

BUT now it's just fantastic! The people are so nice! I've even made my first sale there and love it :D I also love the Alchemy area, sooo many things to do for people. I'm going to start putting up some new graphics and do banners for people :D

Rhodium

Alrighty... well, I just lowered the price of the items in my shop. I just found that the metal I had been using to make them is Rhodium (part of the platinum family) instead of Silver! *smacks* Although rhodium is rarer than silver I'm just not sure how to price it. I went ahead and got myself some silver compents and findings though so I can make some things in silver and sterling silver. Not sure which material I like more. Rhodium is darker and less shiney than the Silver and the Silver is much brighter and whiter than the Rhodium... all I can tell is a difference in color! O.o I'm going to look up the metal more and see if I can get more info about it. I know it's a common metal used in jewelry but not jewelry that I am particularly used to so I definitely need to know more about it. Oh well!

I'm working on some new pieces, should have some new pieces up in my Etsy and ArtFire shop later today :) but, mostly in my Etsy shop. :)

Of course, I'll be posting them up here first and everyone can see it before it goes up in the shops! :D

Also, if someone knows where I can get a real black orchid let me know! :D Black orchids won't look BLACK BLACK but more like a SUPER DARK DEEP PURPLE. I'm getting some flowers now and casting them in a beautiful polyresin, wish me luck! I already know how to dry out everything, even orchids, which is what I really want right now, but I can't find the right flowers. Let me know if you do find some. I don't mind tinting my resin to give the color a bit more *oomf*.

I am also taking commissions on bridal projects! If you are a bride and need custom jewelry made for your bridal party let me know and I'll see what I can do for you! :D

Yep, I'm having some awesome icecream cake :) Strawberry flavored with strawberries all sitting on top of a pound cake :D

Anyways, haven't been up to much. Getting ready for another photoshoot at the end of the week. I haven't been able to sleep for anything so hopefully this will go well. Still mad at Charles and everything. I'm thinking about getting some new furniture or something so that I have a real work area at home too. I've just been working on things on the downstairs coffee table... Lily likes to jump on it and get into my work. Especially if I'm taking a nap! Yeah, that's not so fun when I wake up to find whole missing canisters that are filled with things over $100's worth. It's been rough this week so far. Maybe things will look brighter at the end of the week :)

Oh, I have a new videogame too!!! Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time (for the DS) :D It's really fun, but I'm not that far in it yet, BUT I do love Final Fantasy games no matter if it's regular FF, Tactics, Crystal Chronicles, or Chocobo Tales (or any others like My Life As a King on Wii)! They're all great :D

I'm actually thinking about going to this Anime convention called A-kon with my older bro this year. I haven't been to one in a while so I don't know if it will be any good. If I do I'm totally dressing up. I'm asian, I have to. LOL

Anyways, Charles made dinner tonight, so I guess I'm going to go have dinner now.

Well, today I didn't do much. Charles royally pissed me off and I'm still getting over it. Don't ask. I spent last night at my parent's house because I was SOOO MAD.

Photoshoot After the Storm!

Alrighty!

I have a photoshoot tomorrow :D
Should be doing some fashion and commercial fashion shots to add to my portfolio! I really need new shots to put in there. Will probably be mostly studio instead of location work is what I was told. The storm that's coming through with all the hail and everything collapsed 2 buildings out where I'm supposed to be shooting at. Might be cool to have some things done at the sites for authenticity and a unique scenery you don't find everywhere. I'll run it by the photographer and see if he thinks it's a good idea.

Well, I'm off to have dinner and all now. Afterwards I'm working some more on that new collection. I forgot to get some materials for it yesterday while I was out on my spending spree. I'll have to pick some up tomorrow sometime or maybe on Monday.

Oh wow, it's pouring outside and we're getting pea to quarter sized hail. I hope my car is alright out there. All I have is a little covered parking space, no garage here! O_x

I'm working on my "Sweet Treats" right now I know you all will just love them! I'm also learning a method to preserve flowers like orchids in a plastic resin casting. Should be super fun! :D Since I'm still learning it you won't see any pieces up until I feel like I have it down. I will post up any fun things that I have created though so you can see the outcome to all the madness.

*LOL* Oh last night when I figured out how to do it all I had to tell someone and of course my boyfriend was already asleep but Wonjee was awake (she's a super cute, super cool, super tiny asian chickie I know). So, I told her! It was so random! I think for a moment she might have been slightly confused and maybe a bit like 'EH?'... yeah...

So, here was my experience with the place so far. There are some really sweet users BUT there are some that are just plan awful! and yes, this user is a BEEYOTCH. Couldn't shut her mouth for anything. (message me and I'll let you know who it was) I think she might have been jealous. I was getting praise for my work and people telling me when they saw my new pieces they were just drooling over them. Funny that the untalented ones always try to bash anyone with a shred of it and give them the memory of a bad experience with yet another douche.

Possibly helping Shawn today. Poor guy seriously needs a girlfriend and I'm going to do some free pictures of him today so maybe instead of searching all over campus he might find someone in the same stage of their life as him.

I bought a ton of new things today. I'm going to be making some more fun designs, some of them will be in a collection I like to call, "Sweet Treats" :D you'll see why, they're just adorable! :D and really perfect for the rest of the spring and great for this summer!

Ah, I just got a message from the lady that bought the necklace in NY! It's so cute, the style was called Sorority Row and she's giving it to her daughter that's in a Sorority for some event. Apparently, she's going to be the one "pinned" this year. I think she's in for a fun mom bomb event. :D hahaha!

Well good morning!!!!!

Not a lot has changed... although, my blog now looks like a hot mess! *LOL*
Yeah... I'm redesigning it and making some custom graphics for the poor thing so that I have my own personal stamp on it and a nice place to visually present all my nice jewelry.

Looks like my Ebay listing for a Brighton necklace sold today to a fun gal in NY! (YAY!!! MONEY!!!) because I totally need it right now. Being unemployed sort of sucks... I can't really do anything since I had lost my day job... AGAIN! Second one this year. I totally have given up on it and although I still look I can't find anything. So, hopefully you see something that you really like and would like to purchase it from me. (That would totally help me out!!!)
